Join Great Basin Bird Observatory and Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance (Lahontan Audubon Society) at the Galena Creek Visitor Center for a bird walk and presentation! Ned Bohman of the Great Basin Bird Observatory will lead the bird walk starting at 8:00 AM at the Visitor Center, and Alan Gubanich, with the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance, will then host a presentation on Wild Turkeys and the First Thanksgiving, with trivia questions sprinkled throughout. There will be prizes for the winners of the quiz! While we are not likely to see Wild Turkeys on this trip, or anywhere in the county for that matter, we can still enjoy many other bird species in the forests surrounding Galena Creek. We should be able to see nuthatches—3 species if we are lucky, Brown Creeper, Cassin’s Finch, woodpeckers, kinglets, and more on this walk!
