Mono Basin Bird Chautauqua


GBBO is proud to be an official partner of the 23rd annual Mono Basin Bird Chautauqua! Join Great Basin Bird Observatory’s Ned Bohman and Kayla Henry for a special presentation and field trip focused on Pinyon Jay community science.

Friday, June 19 – Presentation (7:30pm-9:00pm)
• 233 –Pinyon Jays: The power of community science presentation
Learn about Pinyon Jays and GBBO’s Community Science Program, including how volunteers are helping researchers better understand this declining species.

Saturday, June 20 – Field Trip (8:00am-12:00pm)
• 320 –Pinyon Jay community science in the Bodie foothills
Explore the Bodie Hills north of Mono Lake in search of Pinyon Jays while learning about their habitat and behavior. Friday’s presentation is helpful to attend, but not a prerequisite.
