I wish they all could be California Gulls--December 2025

  • University of Nevada Reno (map)

The gull ID sessions continue with Ned Bohman and Paul Hurtado. This event will begin with a presentation at the University of Nevada, Reno and utilize gull specimens from the UNR Museum of Natural History. After the presentation we will head over to Sparks Marina. At this session, we will be building on points emphasized in the presentation and previous walks. We will continue to talk about how to identify the age of a gull as well as emphasize specific field marks for different species at different ages.

The presentation will also be broadcast on Zoom and recorded for GBBO’s YouTube channel.

In person attendees will meet at the Fleischman Agriculture building on the UNR campus at PATH1, Reno, NV, 89557. We will all meet here and then head up to the Natural History Museum together. This room is accessed by key card, so please meet us on time at Fleischman Agriculture. The parking lot across the street from this location requires a permit. Free parking is available on Evans Ave and between the park and parking garage just west of Evans St.
