Bird Walk and What Do You Know About Owls Trivia Session

  • Galena Creek Visitor Center 18250 Mt Rose Hwy Reno, NV, 89511 United States (map)

Join Great Basin Bird Observatory and Northern Nevada Bird Alliance at the Galena Creek Visitor Center for a bird walk and trivia session! Ned Bohman of the Great Basin Bird Observatory will lead the bird walk starting at 8:00 AM at the Visitor Center, and Alan Gubanich with the Northern Nevada Bird Alliance will host the trivia session after the bird walk. Owls are always sneaky birds, but October is a great time to glimpse them. Many species of owl migrate late, some species are found in the area year-round, and the forests around Galena Creek offer habitat and a chance to view several species. While we cannot guarantee owl sightings, we can do our best, and point you in the right direction for your own owl quests!
