August Earbirding

  • Davis Creek Regional Park (map)

Continuing the Earbirding series, Ned Bohman will lead participants around Davis Creek Regional Park. At this point in the year, the early migrants have left us, and others are preparing for their journeys. Juveniles are gaining independence from their parents, and we are getting into the time of year when tricky call notes become the more common sounds our birds are making. We can still expect to hear some bird song, but the morning chorus will be much less impressive than in May and June. We will be learning about begging calls, contact calls, alarm calls, and others.

There are limited spaces, so please RSVP asap to outreach@gbbo.org.
