Join GBBO outreach biologist, Ned Bohman, at the McCarran Ranch. This is located on the Truckee River about 15 miles east of Reno. GBBO has a long history of research and monitoring at this Nature Conservancy preserve. With a little bit of crossover from the Ear Birding walks, we will focus on what the birds around us are doing. Turkey Vultures and Tree Swallows are returning to northern Nevada, other subtle migrants like Red-wing Blackbirds, and phoebes are increasing in numbers as well. Our resident birds have begun nesting efforts, and many are singing and defending territories.
