4-Day Bird Banding Workshop (NDOW REGISTRATION)
Location: Reno area (final location to be announced). We are currently evaluating two potential sites along the Truckee River, with the final location to be confirmed in September.
Join Great Basin Bird Observatory for an immersive four-day bird banding workshop designed for professional biologists, agency staff, students, researchers, early-career professionals, and anyone interested in developing bird banding skills.
Participants will gain hands-on experience at an active bird banding station while learning the fundamentals of mist-netting, safe bird handling, banding techniques, aging and sexing birds, data collection, and banding ethics. Whether you're refining your field skills, expanding your professional experience, or exploring a career in wildlife biology, this workshop offers a great opportunity to learn alongside experienced conservation professionals.
