Winter Ear Birding Part 1: Chips, Zeets, Tisps, and Thacks!

  • Evans Canyon Trailhead (map)

Join Outreach Coordinator, and Nevada Bird Records Committee Secretary, Ned Bohman and tune your ears to winter chip notes! This walk will focus on the various calls made by our most common wintering species. Using these calls is a great way to locate unusual species, and to key in on those skulky birds that just won’t come out of the bushes. This walk will meet at the Evans Canyon trailhead, at 7:00 AM, located on North Virginia St, on the north side of McCarran Blvd. Please RSVP to outreach@gbbo.org ASAP if you are interested, there are limited spaces available.

Mark your calendars for February 18th: Winter Ear Birding Part 2: Master the chip note
