If you have data entry, data processing, creative,
and/or organizational skills, you might enjoy helping
us process our bird data and prepare the information
for distribution to partners and supporters from the
public. We need volunteers with data processing skills
(we primarily use the computer programs Access and Excel
for this), volunteers who are willing to do some basic
office work, as well as people who have specific skills
that they are willing to donate to the cause of bird
conservation in the Great Basin.
Specific GBBO tasks that would benefit from your abilities
are:
-- point count survey data entry (needed right now!)
-- bird banding data entry
-- compiling information for GBBO newsletter
-- editing and printing the GBBO newsletter
-- fundraising tasks, such as solicitation letters to
corporations, etc.
-- maintaining incidental bird sightings data base
If you live in the greater Reno area, you might be
interested in helping us by volunteering at our office.
If you live outside the area of our main office, you
might like to work with us via electronic file transfer.
