Overview of GBBO Projects

Some info about the type of projects that GBBO works on or would like to work on.....

	Bird Conservation Plan An effort to summarize the status, conservation issues, habitat needs, and threats to birds of Nevada
	Nevada Bird Count Habitat-based bird monitoring program
	Lower Colorado River Riparian Surveys Habitat-based bird monitoring program
	Elf Owl Detectability Habitat-based bird monitoring program
	Breeding Bird Atlas Habitat-based bird monitoring program
	Aquatic Bird Count Monitoring Nevada's aquatic bird species
	Pinyon Jay and Greater Sage-Grouse Radiotelemetry Telemetry project to provide data for management of pinyon-juniper woodlands
	Shoshone OHV Trail Inventory and monitoring project for an area where a long-distance OHV route is slated for construction.

In addition to the listed projects, Great Basin Bird Observatory has launched a number of monitoring projects, including two new MAPS bird banding stations and monitoring projects in the Lahontan Valley, the Upper Muddy River Valley, and at Pyramid Lake. In addition, GBBO is actively working on several projects to increase public awareness of bird and habitat conservation, such as the annual Spring Wings Bird Festival in Fallon.
