Join Great Basin Bird Observatory

Members are important to the Great Basin Bird Observatory’s mission of conserving birds and their habitats. Members are invited on field trips and will have the opportunity to participate in other special events. Members receive our biannual newsletter GBBO News, as well as Great Basin Birds, our annual journal covering birds and bird related research and monitoring in the Great Basin. As a member you will experience the satisfaction of helping build a network across the Great Basin and Mojave Desert dedicated to the conservation of our region’s birds and their habitats.

You can join the GBBO either by:

1) Filling out and sending in our printable mail in form (click here), or

2) Via credit card online, below.
To join GBBO by using your credit card, please choose your desired membership level by clicking on one of the buttons below. This will take you to the secure Paypal webpage which will take your credit card information. *If you are unfamiliar with Paypal and would like to read more about it, please read the notes at the bottom of this page.

All contributions to GBBO are tax-deductible. If you need a formal receipt for your tax records, please indicate this in the comment section of your payment. To help prevent unsolicited mailings to our members, GBBO also has a blanket policy NOT to share their membership database with other organizations or businesses for the purpose of fundraising.

If you are interested in volunteering with the GBBO, please indicate so in the comment section of your payment. You can view our volunteer page for a general overview of our opportunities.

Thank you for your support!

* Paypal is a large online financial service company which an individual or company can use to receive or make credit card payments to other Paypal customers online. When you donate via Paypal, you will be taken to a Paypal secure webpage where Paypal will charge your GBBO membership to your credit card. If you do not already have a Paypal account, one will be automatically created for you. If you are concerned about security, be aware that as long as you only give Paypal your credit card number (not your bank account number) you still have all of the protections of your credit card company. So in the unlikely event that there is an error in the transaction, you should have the option of reversing the charge through your credit card company.

If you have further questions about Paypal, please read their User Agreement. The agreement will be presented you at the time of your donation or you can find it at the Paypal website.

We feel that this is the best way to provide you the convenience of using your credit card to support our organization at this time. If you have any trouble with Paypal, please let us know. And, as always, check payment via our mail in form is always welcome.
